Transcript datasets

From VectorBase Help System

VectorBase collates and makes available for download and Blast searching transcript data sets for a number of vector species. The data is extracted from full releases of the EMBL databank using the taxon_id and molecule_type:mRNA. Hence, these sets include all publicly submitted cDNA as well as EST data. The following links give more details as to the range of species and the number of sequences available.

Current transcript dataset
March 2008 - Data extracted from EMBL release 94 includes novel EST sequences: 5.8 K from Rhodnius prolixus.

Previous transcript datasets
December 2007 - Data extracted from EMBL release 93 includes novel EST sequences: 183.8 K from Ixodes scapularis, 23.0 K from Phlebotomus papatasi and 9.5 K from Lutzomyia longipalpis.
September 2007 - Data extracted from EMBL release 92 includes novel EST sequences: 75.5 K from Culex pipiens.
June 2007 - Data extracted from EMBL release 91
March 2007 - Data extracted from EMBL release 90 includes novel EST sequences: 1.5 K from Ixodes scapularis and 1.4 K from Rhodnius prolixus.

Individual EST libraries (e.g. ESTs from blood fed females) are now also BLASTable at VectorBase.
