Community Annotation:Feature Comment Submission Guide

VectorBase allows users to leave comments about genes that are displayed in the VectorBase GeneView Gene DAS Report.

This guide describes how to make a comment about a gene.

VectorBase User Login Page	You need to be logged in to submit data to VectorBase. Go to the "User" section, enter your user name and password, and click "Log In."
A gene's gene report page	You can leave a comment about a gene directly on the gene report page. To make a comment about a gene, first navigate to the gene report page of the gene you're going to make a comment about.
Inactive Community Annotation DAS Track	Scroll down to the Gene View Gene DAS Report. If the Community Annotation track is not activated, check the box and and click the Update button.
Active Community Annotation DAS Track	The active Community Annotation DAS Report will show all user-associated annotation for this gene. Click on the Add a comment link to add a comment about the gene.
Comment Submission Page	Simply enter your comment and click Submit.
Display of a Feature Comment	After submission, your comment will be immediately visible in the Gene's Gene DAS Report.
